Our Optimal Health Education program*, called EDGE, is presented to students from 4th – 12th grade, in an age-appropriate, kinetic, and engaging way.
EDGE provides students with a healthy, whole life “tool kit” that is immediately applicable in their daily life.
Obria PNW provides certified educators that will present this program, free of charge, with topics including:
- Bullying and Violence
- Confidence and Self-Esteem
- Dating Decisions
- Drug and Alcohol Abuse
- Intimacy – My Whole Self
- Navigating Conflict
- Peer Pressure and Boundary Setting
- Personal Strengths
- Social Media Awareness
- Suicide Prevention
- Understanding Others’ Perspectives
Equipped with this Whole Life Toolkit, student confidence increases to connect well, communicate effectively, establish personal boundaries, and understand and respect meaningful consent. They learn how to overcome obstacles, deal with peer pressure and bullying, as well as how to set personal goals and develop “work force” readiness.
Students are taught toward the positive, not away from the negative. Through harnessing the power of internal direction, teens self-regulate towards healthy decisions because they desire the positive outcomes.
*This program was drafted in alignment with the Public Health Model of Primary Prevention, medically-based, driven by data from the U.S. Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control. This curricula provides trauma-informed, medically-accurate, science-based, age-appropriate, culturally-sensitive, and parent-friendly education.
